The project had three different manufacturing stages: the CM CORE (inner section, where the transformer is), the VAT and the outer equipment accessories. 

This construction is mainly welded, composed of sheets with widths between 3 mm and 25 mm, cut by laser cutting, plasma cutting and oxycutting. To these 25 mm sheets, we added the bending process with a length of 8 m. 

The connecting flanges were produced in stainless steel 1.4301 (AISI 304), with machining in the connecting area. In the construction process, we used submerged arc welding processes (121) in the butt-welding of the transformer’s side panels (VAT) and tubular wires (138) in the remaining connections, with the particularity of using different materials (carbon steel with stainless steel).

During operation, the transformer weighs 65.000 kg.
