Housing 300 boats of up to 20 m, the Douro Marina stands as the largest nautical port between Cascais and Galiza.
The constructed area of about 2000 m² is divided into 3 buildings with 2 stories each. For the stories, we used a mixed slab solution O FELIZ H60.
The metal structure, built by O FELIZ Metalomecânica, was made with square metallic tubes of 400 mm x 400 mm, with different thicknesses. The structure is on the outside of the building, in an unusual design, which demanded a careful detailing of the trims between the structure and the façade elements, so as to ensure the sealing of the assembly, as well as the quality of the top coating.
The structure is coated with punctured sheets in composite panel and, alternately, wide glass areas. The combination of the different materials creates a global architectural harmony and it enhances the surrounding riparian landscape.
